Whilst I'd love to have an awesome story about rescuing a puppy from a crocodile, it was a work accident.
Carrying a large stone island bench top, on its side with a mitred (cut at a 45o angle, very sharp) edge facing me. As I've gone to lower it onto my boot to adjust my grip, the bench has slipped and brushed past my neck.
Luckily it has gone in on an angle and didn't penetrate to deeply though the wound opened up about 40mm.

I've had workers comp problems come up months later where the hospital was chasing me for expenses because a form hadn't been completely properly by the worksafe insurance provider.
